Montmorillon is well known for its macarons and has a museum dedicated to it. The Maison Rannou-Métivier is the oldest macaron bakery in Montmorillon, dating back to 1920. The traditional recipe for Montmorillon macarons remains unchanged for over 150 years, so if you have a sweet tooth, its well worth a visit.

Marked by its medieval past, the city of Montmorillon still has many monuments and other buildings of great interest in its old center, so lots to see.

The medieval quarter of Montmorillon center is the most popular attraction of the city. Since 2000, it houses the City of Writing and Book Professions of where booksellers, potters, calligraphers or painters share the space. The opportunity to admire beautiful buildings dating from the Middle Ages and discover the local artisans.

There is a railway station should you wish to arrive by train. Montmorillon is also just 50 minutes from Poitiers Airport and Limoges is approx 55minutes, so good access if flying into France too.
