Golden opportunity to own a lovely Montmorillon town house.
This property has good potential, not just as a holiday home, but for long term rental too.
The present owners have begun the initial rip out to begin renovation work, but due to unforseen circumstances, have decided to sell and let someone else have the opportunity of this lovely little house.
Entering from the street, you walk into a room which has had a dividing wall removed to open up the room. This space could now be an open plan kitchen/living room, and if the bathroom on the ground floor was removed, this would become a very useful utility room at the back.
From here the stairs lead up to the first floor, on which is a double bedroom, with window to the front, and what at present is called a Débarras at the rear, this has potential to become a bathroom. This floor has it’s original oak floor in good condition.
Another set of stairs leads to the Grenier, which is open floor to eaves, has great head height which means that you could quite easily make one large master bedroom with en-suite. Or two smaller bedrooms and a bathroom. This also has oak floor and window to the front.
The house doesn’t have outside space, however as a lock up and leave holiday home this is a great advantage, as you would not have the financial worry of maintaining a garden.
The street is quiet, so no busy traffic to worry about.
The house is on mains drains, water and electricity.
This property is located in the town of Montmorillon, about two streets from the main square, where they hold a weekly market. It is in walking distance to many bars and restaurants, supermarkets, chemist, cinema, swimming pool, lots of lovely shops. DIY centre, garages etc.
Montmorillon is well known for its macarons and has a museum dedicated to it. The Maison Rannou-Métivier is the oldest macaron bakery in Montmorillon, dating back to 1920. The traditional recipe for Montmorillon macarons remains unchanged for over 150 years, so if you have a sweet tooth, its well worth a visit.
Marked by its medieval past, the city of Montmorillon still has many monuments and other buildings of great interest in its old center, so lots to see.
The medieval quarter of Montmorillon center is the most popular attraction of the city. Since 2000, it houses the City of Writing and Book Professions of where booksellers, potters, calligraphers or painters share the space. The opportunity to admire beautiful buildings dating from the Middle Ages and discover the local artisans.
There is a railway station should you wish to arrive by train. Montmorillon is also just 50 minutes from Poitiers Airport and Limoges is approx 55minutes, so good access if flying into France too.
