Masson is in the countryside and in the heart of wine growing areas of Madiran and Saint Mont, the village of Viella is 5km away and has a bar, shop, doctor, chemist and school. The house is surrounded by over 50 independent wine producing Domains and Chateaux, with wine tasting available. There are a variety of restaurants and bars in the area offering a wide choice of local dishes. Within easy reach of Masson, you will find year round events including Marciac jazz festival (three weeks July/August), Vic Fezensac Tempo Latino festival (July), Nogaro, The Paul Armagnac motor sport race track. Termes d’Armagnac hold medieval festivals throughout the year and the village of Lupiac has a museum and festival devoted to d’artagnan, there is also a fantastic swimming lake there, with a beach, bar and restaurant. There are weekly markets in most villages throughout the year, along with local fétes and Vide grenier (antique/flea markets). The Pyrenees (which you can see from Masson) are an hour away along with the City of Pau, Lourdes, Tarbs (about 40 minuets away) and the ski village of Cauterets, and for cyclists, there is the challenge of the Tourmalet.
